ANDES: The Andes region of Ecuador offers an intriguing blend of nature, indigenous culture and contemporary life, all in close proximity. From the window of a modern hotel in Quito, the capital, you can see the majesty of snow-capped Cotopaxi volcano. You can participate in a religious festival and visit a variety of churches, explore the ruins where the Inca held their own celebrations. Be dazzled by the colors that fill the Otavalo market during only one day, and, see those same colors in the Mindo Cloud Forest next morning.
